My Role and Contributions

As the Brand & UI/UX Designer, I spearheaded the design and development of CashKiddos, an app aimed at teaching kids aged 5-10 about money management. My role involved crafting an intuitive and engaging user experience that balanced education with entertainment. I led the design of key features, created user flows, and ensured that the app met the needs of both children and parents.

The Product's Goal

The primary goal of CashKiddos is to make saving fun and safe for children by teaching them the value of money through virtual currency and gamification. The app aims to instill strong financial habits in young users while providing a secure and educational environment.

The Research

Research for CashKiddos included understanding the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-10, as well as parents' concerns about digital financial education tools. User interviews, educational psychology studies, and competitive analysis of similar products informed the design approach. The research focused on making the app both educational and engaging, ensuring that it was developmentally appropriate for young users.

The Target Audience

The target audience for CashKiddos consists of children aged 5-10, who are in the early stages of understanding money, and their parents, who seek a safe and educational tool to teach financial literacy. The app also appeals to educators looking for interactive ways to introduce financial concepts to young students.

Design Architecture

The design architecture of CashKiddos was centered around a simple and playful interface that young children could easily navigate. The architecture included a user-friendly onboarding process, clear visual cues, and engaging animations to guide users through the app’s core functions like income and expense tracking, setting savings goals, and participating in gamified activities.
